About This Retreat
What happens at the time of death? How can we prepare ourselves for this inevitable moment? And how can we support others through it?
Drawing on Tibetan Buddhist teachings, this retreat offers a practical and compassionate exploration of the process of death, the intermediate state, and rebirth. Rather than avoiding the topic, we learn to approach it with openness and curiosity—recognizing that by understanding death, we gain a deeper appreciation of life.
Through teachings, guided meditations, and group discussions, you will learn how to prepare inwardly for death, live more consciously in the present, and support others with care and presence at the end of life.
This retreat also offers space to reflect on what truly matters—helping to resolve inner and outer conflicts, and to cultivate qualities such as compassion, stability, and wisdom. By becoming familiar with these teachings, we can begin to reduce fear and develop confidence in facing life’s transitions.
Special Practice: Lhabab Duchen
On Sunday afternoon, you are warmly invited to join a special Lhabab Duchen practice with light offerings (separate event).
Lhabab Duchen is one of the four great Buddhist holy days, commemorating the Buddha’s descent from the heavenly realm of Tushita back to Earth. It is considered a particularly powerful time for practice, when the results of positive actions are greatly multiplied.
This retreat is open to all who wish to explore these essential questions in a meaningful and supportive environment.
Nobody should be turned away from Dharma activities due to financial reasons. If the suggested contribution feels too much for you, please let us know ([email protected]) and we’ll see how we can help.

Venerable Khadro brings years of experience teaching Buddhist philosophy and meditation in the tradition of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Her clear and practical approach makes profound Buddhist concepts accessible to modern students.
Born in Venezuela of European parents and raised in Argentina, she later moved to New Zealand in 2004, where she first encountered Tibetan Buddhism. She took ordination in 2014 with the great master Lama Zopa Rinpoche and has since completed extensive formal studies, including the FPMT Master Programme in Buddhist Philosophy.
Her experience includes months in solitary retreat—such as at Lawudo Hermitage in the Himalayas—and over two decades of service within the FPMT. Currently the Resident Teacher at Yeshin Norbu Center in Stockholm, she has taught courses and led retreats internationally.
Her warm, open, and grounded teaching style creates a supportive environment for genuine learning and transformation.
