The Art of Being Human
with John Seex
The Art of Being Human is an introduction to the Shambhala teachings and the practice of meditation. These teachings are based on the understanding that every human being has inherent kindness, confidence and wisdom that we can discover and express in our life.
You are invited to explore what it means to rest in your innate goodness. In these dark ages we can be constantly pulled out into panic/fear and doubt. When we can relax into what we are, we contact our inherent richness and can offer generosity and compassion to others. This is an experiential weekend with guided mindfulness/awareness meditation, walking meditation and sharing experiences to encourage you to relax and trust in your basic goodness, both in yourself and in the world.
Language: English
About the teacher:
John Seex has been teaching in Shambhala for about 20 years and has taught Running with the Mind in Meditation retreats, month long retreats (dathuns), Shambhala Levels 1-5, and foundational Buddhist courses about the Four Immeasurables, the Four Foundations of Mindfulness, and the Nine Stages of Resting the Mind, among others. He is a psychotherapist, supervisor and psychotherapy tutor and is fascinated by the relationship between thinking and feeling and the everyday experience of egolessness.
