Contact Beyond Contact (CBC) integrates dance, somatics, yoga, qigong, and energy healing modalities to harmonize the Body, Mind, Heart, and Spirit (SOMA).

The practice cultivates a safe, respectful space for authentic expression, trust, and deep transformation while honoring personal and interpersonal boundaries. CBC combines Authentic Movement, Contact Improvisation, and Passing Through with mindfulness, energy work, behavioral science, and somatic philosophies to create an embodied path of insight and compassionate action.

*Deep Somatic Movement: Guided practice in solo, duet, and group improvisation.

*Integrated Healing Arts: Merging subtle energy work, qigong, and spiritual principles into movement facilitation.

BIO:

Vangelos is an internationally recognized pioneer in the fields of contemporary dance, somatic therapy, and holistic leadership with over two decades of professional global experience. His specialized expertise lies in the structural synthesis of Eastern energy systems and Western contemporary performance methodologies. Through his organization, UNITY SPACE, Legakis engineers transformative international festivals, cross-cultural art projects, global residencies, and professional certification tracks designed to optimize human growth, career longevity, and community cohesion.

Legakis established his foundational artistic training in the United Kingdom, graduating from the prestigious Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (London, UK) with a BA (Hons) in Dance Theatre and an MA in Choreography. Bridging rigorous artistic practice with profound philosophical research, he subsequently earned a Master of Arts in Buddhist Studies from The University of Hong Kong.


Between 2004 and 2013, he conducted extensive, close-range research alongside The Forsythe Company, formulating proprietary methodologies in choreography and improvisation technologies. He also completed a 50-day intensive training module under david Zambrano in Costa Rica, dedicating a decade (2008–2018) to developing and disseminating world-renowned Flying Low and Passing Through techniques.

Julyen Hamilton, Gill Clarke, Rosemary Butcher & Rosalind Crisp: Advanced instant composition, release technique, and somatic movement research.


SOMATIC MANUAL THERAPIES

Certified Reiki Master; certified practitioner in Reflexology, Neuro-Skeletal Re-Alignment, Deep Tissue, and Holistic Massage modalities.

ADVANCED STRUCTURAL BODYWORK

Structural Energy Awakening Therapy / Thai Massage (Mike Tan); Integrative Biodynamic CranioSacral Therapy & Thanatology (Rosemary Wallace); Abdominal Massage (Felicity Joy); and Chi Nei Tsang / Taoist Visceral Manipulation (Khun Ni).
