one-day meditation retreat at the temple of Dhammakaya North Sweden
Om detta evenemang
On 30 August 2026, I will be doing one-day meditation retreat at the temple of Dhammakaya North Sweden in Gävle, the former Immanuel Church.

On this one-day retreat, we will learn how to bring the ancient virtue of equanimity (upekkhā) into practice in our daily lives. How do we deal when we are faced with things that are out of our control? And how do we remain balanced in a changing world? We can all use a bit of stability and even-mindedness in our lives. But how do we distinguish between wise equanimity and indifference or apathy? Where do we draw the line in being kind to others?

You will have the opportunity to share your meditation experiences and ask questions to clear up any doubts. The monks will also share their meditation journeys and how the practice has helped them become more peaceful and happy. The teacher on this retreat will be Lp Sander, a monk ordained in the Thai Buddhist tradition.

The center will provide lunch. The retreat is suitable for beginners as well as previous participants who have learned Dhammakaya meditation before. Meditation will take place in a spacious, beautiful former church.

You can apply here: https://forms.gle/isQ3o1HV5WcMz3ez6

This will be the program of the day:

10:00 AM Introduction, guided meditation
11:30 AM Lunch
1:00 PM Guided meditation
2:00 PM Dhamma talk
3:00 PM Sharing, Q&A
4:00 PM Guided meditation (optional)

The address of the temple is: Brynäsgatan 6, 802 80 Gävle, Sweden.
